NamsDesign is a new and exclusive designer house founded and owned by Namrata Dey — an actor, an entrepreneur, and a proud mom of two daughters and three fur babies. Born in Kolkata, and currently residing in Folsom, California, she took upon the responsibility of continuing the legacy of her late grandfather’s local saree business in Bishnupur, West Bengal which was established back in 1947, the same year when India had gained independence from their 200 year long British colonial rule. 

In a way, she carries the passion and belief of her family’s roots and values in a foreign land where true freedom means celebrating who you are unapologetically. With her products, Nams strives to deliver century old traditions and heritages with exemplary innovations in a world where fast fashion is favored over hours of labor, creativity and artistic craftsmanship.
