Boeing has promoted Indian American Uma Amuluru as its chief human resources officer and executive vice president for human resources.
Amuluru will take up her new role with effect from April 1, succeeding Michael D’Ambrose, an official statement by the firm noted. She will report to the company’s president and CEO David Calhoun.
In the new position, Amuluru will spearhead Boeing’s strategic human resources functions, encompassing talent planning, global talent acquisition, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Expressing high regard for Amuluru’s leadership acumen, Calhoun underlined her impressive track record in team cultivation and organizational fortification. He emphasized the pivotal role Boeing’s extensive workforce of 170,000 employees worldwide plays in upholding quality standards and fostering stakeholder confidence.
Calhoun further underscored Amuluru’s familiarity with Boeing’s internal dynamics, honed during her tenure as the company’s inaugural chief compliance officer, as a cornerstone asset for propelling Boeing towards its future goals.
Amuluru brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served as vice president and general counsel for Boeing defense, space, and security since early 2023, the firm said in a statement.
She played a pivotal role in establishing the company’s global compliance organization as its first chief compliance officer. Amuluru has also held senior positions within the US government, including counselor to the US attorney general and associate White House counsel during the Obama administration.
“Her diverse background, spanning both corporate and governmental realms, positions her strategically to lead Boeing’s human resources endeavors in an ever-evolving global landscape,” the firm affirmed.
“Amuluru’s appointment reaffirms Boeing’s dedication to nurturing and empowering its workforce as it charts a course of continued growth and innovation,” it added.
