Sony Pictures Entertainment promotes Ravi Ahuja as COO and president

Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced that Ravi Ahuja will take over as president and chief operating officer (COO).
The Indian American is currently the chairman of Sony Pictures Television and head of corporate development. He will continue to oversee the company's TV business in his elevated role, effective April 1.
Ahuja oversaw the studio's India operations in addition to overseeing non-fiction, kids and game programs, non-fiction, and foreign productions for Sony Pictures Television while serving as chairman of Global Television Studios and Corporate Development. Together with Tony Vinciquerra, he was also in charge of Corporate Development and M&A (mergers and acquisitions) for Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE).
Before moving to Sony, Ahuja held the positions of chief financial officer (CFO) and president of business operations at Walt Disney Television "He played a central role in merging Disney/ABC Television and Fox Networks following Disney’s acquisition of Fox in early 2019,” according to his profile.
Ahuja also oversaw finance, strategy, and business development for all of Fox Networks Group's business units, including Twentieth Century Fox Television, Fox Broadcasting, Fox Cable Networks, Fox Sports, National Geographic, and Fox Networks Europe and Africa, Latin America, and Asia, while he served as CFO before joining Disney.
Throughout his 12 years at Fox, he developed and carried out business expansion plans, including initiatives in streaming and emerging technologies. Ahuja also worked as CFO for Virgin Entertainment Group, Inc. before coming to Fox in 2007. In addition, he previously worked in investment banking and at McKinsey & Company.
At the moment, he serves on Roku Inc.'s board of directors and has been a member of the Wharton Undergraduate executive board. He holds degrees in both undergraduate and MBA studies from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
