US firm to revolutionize dairy farming in Maharashtra
Both companies, along with eVerse.AI, have been working to enhance farming life in rural Maharashtra.

US-based Rockwell Automation has joined forces with the ISAP India Foundation to modernize dairy production in the water-scarce area of Antargaon in Wardha district, Maharashtra.
As per an official statement, the firm has launched the "Economic and Social Development of Indian Village Through Technology-Enabled Dairy Farming" initiative as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).
In collaboration with ISAP, a non-profit organization that provides top-notch national livelihood promotion and agriculture marketing consulting, Rockwell aims to enhance the living conditions of dairy farmers by utilizing cutting-edge products and services that harness digital technologies for the development of livestock through veterinary practices supported by scientific research.
The firm hailed India as a global leader in milk production, with the highest population of cows worldwide. However, it noted that Indian dairy farmers face difficulties such as poor milk yields per animal and inadequate milk product quality.
“These problems are exacerbated by the decentralized nature of dairy production in India and rural farmers' lack of knowledge about modern scientific veterinary techniques,” the firm said in a statement.
"We are thrilled that our CSR project at Antargaon, Maharashtra, is already showing early signs of success and providing tangible benefits to local farmers, and augmenting their incomes," said Dilip Sawhney, managing director, Rockwell Automation India.
"We are confident that this project will continue to help the people of Antargaon to benefit from the technology-enabled scientific management of the health and reproductive cycles of their farm animals. Projects like this will eventually lead to improved incomes and better quality of life in rural communities throughout India,” he added.
The project, which started in May 2023, has already shown positive results. During a recent field trip to Antargaon, progress was shared with local dairy farmers via an interactive session.
Farmers provided encouraging responses, citing a 15-20 percent rise in milk output over the previous six months. Milk quality has also improved, allowing them to charge higher prices and boost household income.
The initiative offers dairy farmers a range of services, including IoT-enabled collar devices for tracking animal health, mobile phone alerts from veterinary experts, muzzle-based biometric identification systems, and eVerse.AI's CowGPT platform for animal health.
Additionally, it has also introduced the farmers to ration balancing, fodder development, quality feed supply, village-level animal health services, dairy farming extension programs, market integration for milk sales, and revenue generation from animal waste products.
