California-based Vectra AI, Inc., a leading provider of AI-driven extended detection and response (XDR) solutions, has announced the appointment of Sailesh Munagala as chief financial officer (CFO).

In his new role, Munagala will oversee Vectra AI's financial operations and be responsible for the company's financial, legal, IT, and business operations functions, the firm said in a statement.

Munagala joins Vectra AI from Relativity, where he served as CFO and managed the company's finance, accounting, real estate, and procurement functions. Prior to Relativity, he led financial planning and analysis for Google Cloud and served as CFO of Cortex and VP of Finance at Palo Alto Networks.

Commenting on his appointment, Munagala said, “In a time where organizations need enhanced cybersecurity measures and visibility across the hybrid attack landscape, I am honored to join a team at the cutting edge of AI-driven innovation, helping customers keep threats at bay and build resilience in their security posture.”

Hitesh Sheth, founder and CEO of Vectra AI, expressed his enthusiasm about Munagala's addition to the executive team. "Sailesh’s proven track record in financial management and deep industry knowledge make him an excellent addition to our team. His expertise will be instrumental in driving our financial strategy as we scale our business with a focus on profitable growth," Sheth said.

The appointment comes at a significant time for Vectra AI, as the company expands its platform to protect enterprises from new threat vectors introduced by the rapid adoption of generative AI tools.
