Wipro, an Indian multinational technology services and consulting firm, has announced the appointment of Sanjeev Jain as its chief operating officer (COO), effective immediately.
Based in Bangalore, India, Jain succeeds Amit Choudhary, who is stepping down to explore opportunities outside the company, an official statement from the tech giant reported.
“I am honored and excited to take on the role of COO,” said Jain. “I look forward to strengthening our operational capabilities to bring more value to our clients.”
Jain will remain a member of the company’s executive committee, and will report to New Jersey-based CEO and managing director, Srinivas Pallia. As COO, Jain will focus on enhancing Wipro’s client-centric delivery organization, aiming for sustainable and profitable growth.
He will oversee global business operations, the chief information office, the chief Information security office, and the enterprise risk management function. Jain will work closely with leadership teams on various transformation initiatives.
Joining Wipro in 2023 as the global head of business operations, Jain has over 30 years of experience managing large teams, scaling global operations, and implementing Lean Six Sigma and design thinking principles. During his previous tenure, he has overseen the talent supply chain, including Wipro’s gig work platform, TopGear, and led initiatives in talent skilling, global mobility, and business resilience.

Jain, previously worked with Kyndryl Holdings, IBM, Cognizant, and GE, is an alumnus of IIM-Mumbai and a certified Master Black Belt from GE.
