‘Babylicious’, an India-Pakistan joint production, is set to release in the United States on Apr.26.
The romantic comedy film stars Shahroz Sabzwari and Syra Yousuf, alongside Bollywood actor Ankur Rathee. It marks the first on-screen collaboration of the former real couple Sabzwarivand Yousuf post their separation.
Produced by Coconut Entertainment, the film is centered on a hopeless romantic who takes on the world to stop his ex-girlfriend's wedding and reignite true love. It was earlier released in Pakistan to positive reviews.
The film’s review by Dawn (newspaper) read, “Shahroz and the ear-catching dialogues, are the glue that bind Essa’s uncomplicated, routine love story, that’s anted-up as a near-excellent motion picture … heralds the arrival of a bright young filmmaker.”
Sharing the challenges of the Indo-Pak collaboration, Director Essa Khan said, “I stood resolute against all odds, pushing back against the pressures from ISI to collaborate with Indian talent. Equally, the Indian artists showcased incredible courage, defying cancel culture to join hands with me. The result? A small group of viewers discovered joy in our creation. Success!”
