Roundglass India Center launches desi podcast featuring prominent Indian Americans
The podcast will be hosted by Sital Kalantry, professor of Law at Seattle University and director of the RoundGlass India Center

Seattle University’s Roundglass India Center is set to launch a new podcast celebrating the achievements of Indian Americans, who have made significant contributions to their fields and the community.
Produced in collaboration with award-winning production agency, Lower Street, the "Desi Roots & Routes" podcast is set to premiere on Sept. 20 across all major podcast platforms. Season 1 will explore the personal and professional journeys of Indian American leaders, starting with the ones based in Seattle.
Hosted by Sital Kalantry, professor of Law at Seattle University and director of the RoundGlass India Center, the first season will feature influential figures such as Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, Rita Meher (executive director and co-founder of Tasveer), Sunny Singh (founder of Edifecs and Roundglass Foundation), Krishna Thiagarajan (president and CEO of Seattle Symphony), Ankur Vora (chief strategy officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation), and Pallavi Mehta Wahi (co-U.S. managing partner at K&L Gates). Special guest Nalini Iyer, professor of English at Seattle University, will provide expert commentary throughout the season.
“Our goal is to showcase how Indian Americans are bridging cultures and making significant contributions to their communities. Each guest's story reveals how they have navigated complex identities, overcome cultural barriers, and achieved remarkable success, a brief for the podcast reads.
The RoundGlass India Center, based at Seattle University, was founded by Sital Kalantry and builds on the deep connections the university has with India. It focuses on studying contemporary India and the Indian American community, fostering understanding, promoting cultural exchange, and advancing social change.
