Dr. Prabha Krishnan takes over as president of NYS Dental Association
Krishnan’s presidency will focus on expanding access to dental care, promoting preventive dentistry, and enhancing professional development for NYSDA members.

The New York State Dental Association (NYSDA) has appointed veteran periodontist Dr. Prabha Krishnan as its 143rd president.
With nearly three decades of experience, Dr. Krishnan steps into the role with a strong track record in patient care, continuing education, and public health advocacy. Her journey with the NYSDA spans 30 years, during which she has held numerous leadership positions, most recently serving as president-elect.
According to a news release, Krishnan’s presidency will focus on expanding access to dental care, promoting preventive dentistry, and enhancing professional development for NYSDA members. Additionally, she aims to strengthen the association's voice in public policy and advocacy efforts.

"It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the 143rd President of the New York State Dental Association," Dr. Krishnan said. "I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance the profession, enhance the quality of dental care, and improve the oral health of all New Yorkers."
Dr. Krishnan has provided expert periodontal care in Queens, NY, for nearly 30 years and currently serves as the chief of periodontics at Flushing Hospital Medical Center. She is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and has earned numerous accolades, including the Emil Lentchner Distinguished Service Award from the Queens County Dental Society.
Dr. Krishnan is also a member of the Indian Dental Association Board of Trustees. She holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the New York University College of Dentistry. Beyond her professional work, she is dedicated to volunteering and offering free dental services to underserved communities
