Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Centre celebrates cultural diversity
The Ambassador of India, Partha Satpathy, inaugurated the event and underscored the significance of "cultural unity."
The 'World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development' was commemorated by the Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Centre (ASCC), Embassy of India, Budapest, at a cultural event titled "अनेकता में एकता-Unity in Diversity."
The Ambassador of India, Partha Satpathy, inaugurated the event and underscored the significance of "cultural unity." In the context of diplomacy, he emphasized that "culture is a conductor" because it is not transient and does not fluctuate with politics or economics.
“It defines the character of the country, and it identifies the countries. Therefore, culture when it is used as a plank in diplomacy can yield wonderful results,” he said. director of ASCC, Dr Mukesh Kumar Srivastava presented the welcome remarks.

Following the inauguration, Thurzó Zoltán, a pianist who has held the Guinness World Record twice, performed the National Anthem of India as part of a cultural program. The vibrant essence of Indian cultural heritage was exemplified by the performances, which featured a diverse selection of Indian music and dance.
Intercultural performances, such as the fusion of Spanish Flamenco and Indian dance form Bharatanatyam, as well as Hungarian Folk dance, were also included in the lineup, illustrating how cultural diversity enhances the relationships between the countries.
The cultural evening was attended by several Ambassadors, Cultural Directors representing different countries, senior officials of the Hungarian Government, former diplomats, journalists, artists, members of Indian Diaspora, and India lovers.
