Arya Pratinidhi Sabha America to host global summit in New York

Arya Pratinidhi Sabha America (APSA), in coordination with Arya Samajs of Tri States – New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, will be hosting the 2024 International Arya Mahasammelan (Global Arya Summit) between July.18 and July.21, at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York.
APSA, a prominent religious and cultural organization, plays a vital role in promoting the teachings and principles of the Arya Samaj in North America.
The 2024 Global Arya Summit will commemorate the upcoming 150 years since the establishment of the Arya Samaj (in 2025) and 50 years since the establishment of the Arya Samaj in the United States. Over 2,500 delegates from the United States, Canada, India, Mauritius, South Africa, Kenya, Netherlands, Singapore, Australia, Guyana, Trinidad, and Suriname are scheduled to participate in this global event.
The conference theme, ‘Arya Samaj: Sanātan Vedic Dharma for a Better World’, will explore various topics aimed at personal, societal, and global betterment. Discussions will cover Vedic values and their impact on physical, mental, moral, and spiritual well-being, as well as the role of continuous development programs based on these values for enhancing personal and professional life.
Additionally, the conference will focus on nurturing better human beings as the cornerstone for building a better society and world. Other topics include universal concepts for fostering world peace, the environmental and food security implications of a vegetarian diet, and the teachings found in the Gita and Ramayana.
Special workshops will offer attendees the chance to learn Vedic Meditation, Yog/Exercises, and participate in Yajnya. The Yajnyashala will be operational throughout the program.
The conference will kick off with a cultural celebration at Times Square in New York City, where over 1,000 attendees will gather to commemorate the Bicentennial Birth Anniversary of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati. Led by the Arya Samaj youth, the celebration will feature recitations of ancient Veda Mantras, Bhajans, and cultural and patriotic dances.
Interestingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the two-year celebrations, beginning on Feb.12, 2023, of the Bicentennial Birth Anniversary of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of Arya Samaj and a modern reformer. These events were designated as the Jyan Jyoti Parv, or the Enlightenment through Knowledge Festival. This marked the start of a series of events commemorating the 200th birth anniversary of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati globally.
The Cultural Ministry of India issued a special “Gazette of India'', forming a committee of leaders across the globe to commemorate the occasion. Arya Pratinidhi Sabha America took pride in the fact that two members of the organization were chosen to be part of this committee, led by Modi.
