The Jain Society of Metropolitan Washington (JSMW) recently organized a two-day community health fair, demonstrating its dedication to community well-being beyond religious endeavors. The event was highly successful, drawing a significant turnout, and offered a wide range of health services and consultations.

The health fair commenced with a blood testing event that attracted around 120 participants from both the society and the local community. Attendees experienced smooth service from registration to blood draw, with lab technicians from ADG conducting the testing entirely free of charge.

On the second day, attendees returned to retrieve their lab results and receive personalized consultations from a diverse team of medical professionals. The lineup included six primary care doctors — Dr Anita Gangar, Dr Ashish Tolia, Dr Bipin Turakhia, Dr Pooja Mehta, Dr Sneha Sheth, and Dr Vipul Shah — who provided valuable insights and advice.

Additionally, specialists such as an allergist (Dr Dipa Sheth), a gastroenterologist (Dr Deepak Merchant), a pulmonologist (Dr Kinjal Sheth), a cardiologist (Dr Mahesh Shah), ophthalmologists (Dr Sushil Jain and Dr Tanvi Shah), a dentist (Dr Yash Mehta), and physical therapists (Renuka Jain and Shraddha Jain) were available for consultations.

Furthermore, participants had the opportunity to undergo vision and bone density screenings. The health fair was held in partnership with the American Diversity Group (ADG) and the NIH All of Us Program.

JSMW is a non-profit organization located in Silver Spring, Maryland, founded in March 1980. Dedicated to promoting Jain principles, preserving our rich heritage, and passing it on to future generations, JSMW plays a vital role in the community.
