The Rajasthani community in Philadelphia marked the festival of Gangaur with a grand celebration organized by KhammaGhani Philadelphia.
The event, held at the Chinmaya Sudarshan property in Pennsylvania, saw nearly 200 attendees participating in traditional rituals, cultural performances, and community gatherings. Pennsylvania State Senator Carolyn Comitta attended as the guest of honor, reflecting the growing acknowledgement of the community

Gangaur is a significant festival in Rajasthan, dedicated to Goddess Gauri and Lord Shiva. It symbolizes marital harmony and prosperity, with married women praying for their husbands' well-being and unmarried women seeking blessings for a suitable partner.
The Philadelphia celebration featured a traditional puja with idols of Gangaur and Issar brought from Bikaner, Rajasthan. Following the prayers, a procession took place, accompanied by cultural performances by men, women, and children. A highlight was a presentation by younger participants focusing on the Temples of India.
The event also included traditional Rajasthani cuisine, with attendees served dal, baati, and churma. Organizers emphasized the importance of preserving and celebrating cultural traditions through such gatherings.
