The United States Hindu Alliance (USHA) is hosting a series of dinner events called "Vande Bharatam Dinner" across various American cities, kicking off in Atlanta, Georgia. The first event will be held on June.30, at the Ashiana Banquet Hall in Global Mall, with many local dignitaries expected to attend.
These dinners will feature talks by prominent American leaders, focusing on the rise of modern India and the evolving Hindu community around the world.
The aim of the "Vande Bharatam Dinner" series is to spread awareness, foster understanding, and build mutual respect. As a close friend to the US and the world, India boasts the title of the largest democracy, having successfully conducted the biggest election in human history. Notably, India has a long tradition of peaceful transfers of power.
In recent years, the nation has made significant contributions, including providing aid during the Covid pandemic, advancing space exploration, reducing poverty, and reforming its economy, USHA said in a statement.
However, despite India's achievements, there has been a rise in negative portrayals and false narratives. USHA has expressed concern about this misinformation being spread through various channels, including books, events, videos, movies, social media, and traditional media outlets.
"Our goal is to share the truth about India so the world can understand us better," said Sudhir Agarwal, Chair for the Atlanta Vande Bharatam Dinner.
USHA is a national organization advocating for Hindus in America. Their mission is to protect and promote the interests of Hindus worldwide. They actively work to build strong relationships between Hindus and all sections of American society through various projects, events, and initiatives.
