Former Carmel Mayor endorses Indian-origin Raju Chinthala for Congress

Former Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard has formally announced his endorsement of Raju Chinthala in the 5th District Congressional Race. Brainard, who held the mayoral position for 28 years, spearheaded the revitalization and expansion of Carmel, transforming it from a small suburb of Indianapolis into the fourth-largest city in Indiana.

"Raju has worked so hard for the people in Central Indiana, bringing good jobs to Indiana. He cares about people and he cares about the issues that are important to me. And that's why I'm voting for Raju Chinthala for Congress and I hope that you do, too," said Brainard. "Raju is for you!"

"I am honored to be endorsed by Mayor Brainard and thank him for his support. Mayor Brainard led Carmel through vibrant economic development, with a focus on the needs of the people and a long-term vision for success. These are attributes that I plan to take to Washington, D.C., on behalf of all the citizens in the 5th District," Chinthala said.

Chinthala boasts a diverse and accomplished background. He is a speech-language pathologist, Hoosier businessman, International Economic Advisor, and active politician. Serving as the Treasurer of the Hamilton County Republican Party, he has also held significant roles such as Senior Advisor for India at the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and Founder. In his capacity as the Founder and President of the Indiana India Business Council, Chinthala has been instrumental in fostering economic ties between Indiana and India. Under his leadership, the council has facilitated trade that has exceeded the $1.3 billion mark.
