According to the report, immigrants made up 6.9 percent of Michigan's population in 2022, accounting for 687,700 people. India was the top country of origin for naturalized citizens in Michigan, accounting for 9.3 percent of the total population. The report further notes that among the documented and undocumented immigrant populations in Michigan, 12 percent and 14.2 percent respectively are from India.
