Maryland Women's Hall of Fame inducts Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller

In addition to the newly inducted members of the Hall of Fame, five outstanding students were bestowed with The Maryland Young Women Leaders Award

Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller joined the esteemed ranks of the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame alongside four other distinguished honorees on Mar. 22. Among them were United States House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker Adrienne A. Jones, Secretary of State Susan Lee, and Comptroller Brooke Lierman.

The induction ceremony, held at Government House, saw Governor Wes Moore and First Lady Dawn Moore extending heartfelt congratulations to each of the inductees.

“I am grateful to stand among the remarkable women whose legacies inspire us to see more, do more, and be more,” said Lt. Gov. Miller.

“Every day, I work to uplift the people of Maryland and create a strong foundation for a future that our next generation of leaders can be proud of, “she added.

“As my partner in this work, the Lt. Governor has made an invaluable mark on this state, and I am honored to serve alongside her,” said Gov. Moore.

“Lt. Governor Miller is a force within this administration and a leader for all young women throughout Maryland,” said First Lady Moore.

Since its inception in 1985, the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame has stood as a collaborative effort between the Maryland Commission for Women and the Women Legislators of Maryland. This prestigious institution commemorates and celebrates the remarkable contributions of Maryland women whose endeavors have left an indelible mark on the state's health, economy, politics, and culture.

In addition to the newly inducted members of the Hall of Fame, five outstanding students were bestowed with The Maryland Young Women Leaders Award. Established in 1997, this accolade honors exceptional young women who exhibit remarkable leadership skills, excel academically, and demonstrate a profound commitment to community service.
