Cricket meets Bollywood in upcoming NCL season

The season will commence on Oct. 4 at the UT Dallas Cricket Stadium.

Tickets for the upcoming National Cricket League (NCL), which will feature a first-of-its-kind blend of cricket and Bollywood entertainment in the United States are currently on sale.

The season set to commence on Oct. 4 at the UT Dallas Cricket Stadium will open with a performance by Bollywood icon Mika Singh.  Each day of the tournament will showcase additional performances from Bollywood celebrities, giving the league a Coachella-inspired atmosphere.

The high-level cricket competition will take place in the fast-paced Sixty Strikes format, with some of the world’s top cricket talents, including Shahid Afridi, Rashid Khan, and Dinesh Karthik, taking the field.

Six teams representing major U.S. cities: the New York Lions, Dallas Lonestars, Texas Gladiators, Chicago Cricket Club, Atlanta Kings, and Los Angeles Waves will battle it out with the winner being crowned on Oct. 14.

"The NCL is bringing a new era of cricket to America, combining the passion of the sport with the energy of a Coachella-like event," said Arun Agarwal, chairman of the National Cricket League. "Building on Team USA’s historic victory, our expanded league is bringing together legendary talent and unforgettable moments that will resonate with both seasoned cricket enthusiasts and newcomers. This season is set to redefine the game."

Building on Team USA’s unexpected and historic victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, which ignited new interest in cricket across the nation, the NCL aims to further embed cricket in the fabric of American sports.

Tickets can be purchased at NCLCricket.com and SiTickets.com. The event will be broadcast globally through ESPN, Willow, and Fox Sports.
