The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is also planning to host opening ceremonies at all 13 venues where IPL matches will be played this season. According to reports, Bollywood stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Janhvi Kapoor, and Ananya Panday are among the celebrities expected to perform at various venues.
BCCI officials are working with state associations to ensure smooth execution of these large-scale events without disrupting the matches.
In addition to the traditional IPL venues, matches will be played in secondary locations. Rajasthan Royals will play two home matches at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, while Delhi Capitals will host two games at Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Punjab Kings will split their home matches between the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, and Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (HPCA) Cricket Stadium in Dharamsala, where they will play three games.
This move aims to expand fan engagement and promote cricket across multiple regions in India.
