The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) emerged victorious over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by a margin of four wickets in a close Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Facing a target of 177 runs, RCB displayed resilience and determination in their pursuit. Virat Kohli's impressive innings of 77 runs off 49 balls played a pivotal role in steering his team towards victory. Supported by Dinesh Karthik (28 not out off 10 balls) and Mahipal Lomror (17 not out off 8 balls) in the latter stages, the Royal Challengers achieved the target with four balls to spare.

Kohli was named player of the match for his amazing knock. “I know my name is now attached to just promoting the game in different parts of the world when it comes to T20 cricket. I’ve still got it I guess,” he said at the post match presentation.
Earlier in the match, the Punjab Kings, under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan, set a target of 177 runs, with notable contributions from Dhawan himself (45 runs off 37 balls), Jitesh Sharma (27 runs off 20 balls), and Prabhsimran Singh (25 runs off 17 balls). However, their efforts fell short against the disciplined bowling performance of the Royal Challengers, particularly from Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell, who claimed two wickets each.
With six matches done Rajasthan, Chennai, Gujarat, Kolkata, Punjab, Bengaluru have gained two points each with a win while Hyderabad, Mumbai Delhi and Lucknow teams are yet to open their account.
