Indian American entrepreneur and philanthropist Vilas Dhar said that artificial intelligence is causing a “massive disruption” in the workforce, as tasks traditionally performed by humans are increasingly taken over by automated systems.
“What we're observing quite clearly is maybe less of jobs will go away, [but rather] that tasks will go away,” president of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, Dhar said. “Things that people do today that automated systems and AI systems are much better at—that set of things is getting bigger by the day. There is a massive disruption happening in our workforce.”
