Celebrate Vijaya Dashami at the Radha Krishna Temple on October 12, 2024.
Dussehra is a major Hindu festival celebrated at the end of Navratri every year.
In the southern, eastern, northeastern, and some northern states of India, Vijaya Dashami marks the end of Durga Puja, remembering goddess Durga's victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura to restore and protect dharma. In the northern, central and western states, the festival is synonymously called Dussehra. In these regions, it marks the triumph of Shree Ram over Ravan in Lanka. Following a colossal war, Shree Ram slayed the 10-headed Ravan and was reunited with Mother Sita, one of the forms of the Mother of the Universe. It is also a commemoration of the triumph of good over evil, which is described in the Ramayan and many other Vedic texts.
