The IT Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the technological infrastructure of our organization. This role involves managing device inventory, managing and provisioning application access and vendor relationships, providing tier 1 support to our staff of 35+ employees, administering mobile devices, and ensuring the security and functionality of IT systems. The ideal candidate is customer service-oriented and capable of troubleshooting issues effectively while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Prior experience in a remote environment is strongly preferred, as the IT Manager will be responsible for enabling seamless operations for a distributed workforce. This position requires a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting and is committed to maintaining high standards of service, security, and continuous improvement. Note that this position requires occasional travel to company events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Device Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of company devices, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals. Coordinate device distribution, setup, and return processes for employees.
- Mobile Device Management: Oversee the administration of mobile devices, ensuring compliance with security protocols and company policies. Assist with onboarding and configuring new devices for employees.
- Application Management and Support: Serve as the team’s subject matter expert supporting the use of and managing license provisioning for software applications, such as but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Adobe, Google Workspace, Box, Qualtrics, Harvest (time tracking and invoicing software), Salesforce, and Zoom.
- Cybersecurity Oversight: Monitor and enforce IT security measures and provide training to staff, including antivirus software updates, password management, multi-factor authentication, Single-Sign-On, and adherence to cybersecurity best practices. Identify and mitigate potential security risks to protect company data and systems.
- Tier 1 IT Support: Provide first-line troubleshooting for staff IT issues, including hardware, software, and connectivity problems. Respond promptly to IT inquiries and issues logged through internal communication channels, ensuring a customer-focused resolution process. Escalate complex issues to appropriate resources when necessary.
- Remote Work Enablement: Ensure smooth operation of IT systems for a fully remote workforce, including managing collaboration tools, video conferencing platforms, and VPN connections. Provide training and resources to help employees navigate technology-related challenges.
- Policy and Process Documentation: Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and user guides to standardize operations and enhance efficiency. Communicate updates effectively to all staff.
- Vendor and License Management: Coordinate with external vendors for IT services and equipment procurement. Manage software licenses and ensure timely renewals.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Manage relationships with software vendors to ensure that licenses are sufficient and up-to-date, levels of service are appropriate for staff needs, and that all contracts with these vendors are in good order.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Identify trends in recurring issues, implement proactive solutions to reduce downtime, and collaborate with other departments to align IT services with organizational goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend upgrades or new tools to enhance the firm’s IT capabilities. Propose cost-effective solutions to optimize IT operations and improve system reliability while aligning with organizational goals.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience in IT management, preferably in a remote or distributed workforce environment.
- Knowledge and experience with cybersecurity, device management, and tier 1 support.
- Proficiency with MDM platforms, VPNs, cloud-based tools, and ticketing systems.
