Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Specialist with a commitment to providing exceptional technical assistance within a remote work environment. As a vital member of our IT team, you will contribute significantly to the maintenance and optimization of our organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations for all end users.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Install, configure, and uphold desktop hardware, software, and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Set up new workstations, applications, upgrades, and patches efficiently.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Collaborate with the IT Service Desk and Engineers to troubleshoot problems, implement innovative technologies, and enhance efficiency.
  • Respond promptly to helpdesk tickets, providing remote or on-site support to users.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of issues, fixes, and processes within the helpdesk system.
  • Offer technical support, guidance, and training to IT personnel.
  • Strategically plan, test, and execute system and software upgrades.
  • Engage in disaster recovery testing and document outcomes and recommendations.
  • Address audit findings to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Serve as an integral member of the Incident Management Team, prioritizing tasks during critical incidents.
  • Participate in a rotational 24⁄7 on-call support schedule.
  • Attend training sessions to enhance knowledge of IT systems and regulatory requirements.
     

Required Skills
 

  • 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft Windows 10⁄11, imaging, deployment, and patching processes.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft 365, GPO, DNS/DHCP.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes such as Change Management and Problem Management.
  • Understanding of networking principles and remote support tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities, organizational skills, and a customer-centric approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft) are preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for occasional travel.
