Air India, the nation's leading global carrier, announced today a significant expansion of its services between Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi and Haneda Airport (HND) in Tokyo. Effective June 15, 2025, the airline will operate daily non-stop flights on this key route, up from the current four times weekly service.

This enhancement underscores Air India's commitment to strengthening air links between India and Japan, offering increased convenience and flexibility for both business and leisure travelers. The move is expected to further stimulate growing trade and tourism activities between the two nations.

This development follows Air India's recent strategic shift of its Tokyo operations from Narita Airport to the more centrally located Haneda Airport on March 31, 2025. This change significantly reduced travel time to central Tokyo, now approximately 30 minutes to Tokyo Station. The daily flights will be operated using Air India’s modern Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, providing passengers with quicker and easier access to the heart of Tokyo, with Haneda Airport situated just 18 kilometers from the city center.

"Expanding our Delhi-Tokyo Haneda service to daily flights reflects Air India’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for travel between India and Japan," stated Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India. "This daily service, combined with our deepened codeshare partnership with All Nippon Airways, makes it easier for our guests to explore Japan and connect conveniently to other destinations in the country beyond Tokyo."

Through Air India’s enhanced codeshare agreement with its Star Alliance partner, All Nippon Airways (ANA), passengers flying Air India can now seamlessly connect from Tokyo Haneda to six major Japanese cities: Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Okinawa, Osaka, and Sapporo. This allows for single-ticket bookings and the convenience of through-checked baggage to their final destination.

Furthermore, the daily flights will facilitate smoother connections to a wide range of domestic Indian destinations, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune, as well as to international routes across Asia and Europe.

The updated flight schedule, commencing June 15, 2025, is as follows:

AI358: Departs Delhi (DEL) at 20:20 Hrs, arrives Tokyo Haneda (HND) at 07:55 Hrs the following day (Daily).

AI357: Departs Tokyo Haneda (HND) at 11:50 Hrs, arrives Delhi (DEL) at 17:25 Hrs (Daily).
