In the 2025 legislative session, Srinivasan played a pivotal role in consumer protection efforts. He supported SB1212, a bill amending the Virginia Consumer Protection Act to require clear disclosure of mandatory fees or surcharges in pricing, aiming to enhance transparency for consumers. The bill passed both chambers of the General Assembly and was communicated to the Governor on April 2.
Freedom Virginia's 2025 Affordability Scorecard evaluated legislators based on their voting records and leadership on key bills aimed at improving economic conditions for Virginians.
The organization tracked legislation impacting health care, paid leave, labor and consumer protection, taxes, child care, and housing. Legislators were recognized as Economic Security Allies if they voted affirmatively on these priority bills or served as chief or co-patrons on four or more of them.
Rhena Hicks, co-executive director of Freedom Virginia, emphasized the importance of legislative action in the current economic climate, stating, "Immense progress was made this year to ensure a fair and affordable economy in Virginia. Now more than ever with the Trump-Musk administration’s chaos harming our economy and workforce, Virginians need to know their legislators are fighting for them."
Freedom Virginia is a non-partisan, non-profit organization focused on building a Commonwealth where all families have the financial freedom to thrive.
