Global Malayalee Ratna Awards to honor diaspora excellence
Registration for the event begins April 5 via a virtual Zoom event.

The inaugural Global Malayalee Festival will honor distinguished individuals of Malayalee descent with the Global Malayalee Ratna Awards.
The awards ceremony will take place on Aug. 15-16, 2025 at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Kochi, honoring individuals who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, innovation, ethical integrity, and social responsibility.

The awards, open to Malayalees worldwide, will recognize exceptional contributions in 17 categories, including science, medicine, engineering, technology, economy, finance, education, business, arts, politics, literature, cinema, industry, manufacturing, trade, community service, and philanthropy.
The selection process involves a jury-led evaluation, where nominees will be assessed based on stringent performance indicators and excellence benchmarks. The final awardees will be announced on Aug. 1, 2025.
Apart from the awards, the festival will feature the Miss Global Malayalee Pageant and the Global Malayalee Trade, Technology, and Investment Meet, bringing together an extensive network of global professionals.
Malayalees from 53 countries are participating, with the organizing committees consisting of over 100 people from around the world, said Andrew Pappachen, CEO of the Malayalee Festival Federation.
“The delegates from 53 countries include Malayalee business persons managing trade, manufacturing, technology, educational institutions, exports, professionals in various fields holding high positions, and delegates of foreign countries, including representatives of the Royal family from the Gulf,” said Abdullah Manjeri, managing director of the Global Malayalee Festival.
Nominations for the Awards are now open, organizers announced. Individuals who have made significant contributions in any of the 17 award categories can be nominated by sending their details along with a photograph.
