Green card or Visa does not guarantee you free speech, says Rubio and Vance

Vance's remarks on the status of the Green Card come days after Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the Green Card and freedom of speech are two different things.

Washington, March 14: Legal Permanent Residency (LPR) or a Green Card and visa, including a student visa, does not guarantee free speech to any foreign national; it is linked to national security and subject to deportation, US Vice President J D Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have said.

“A green card holder doesn't have an indefinite right to be in the United States. This is not about 'free speech.' Yes, it's about national security — but more importantly, it's about who we, as American citizens, decide gets to join our national community,” Vance told Fox News in an interview on Thursday.
