Diaspora communities across cities in the United States have been holding peaceful protests and candlelight vigils to stand in solidarity with the 26 innocent victims who were killed in a terrorist attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Apr. 22.
The Houston community gathered at the Sugar Land Memorial Park on Apr. 26 to pay tribute to the slain Hindus, including a victim from Nepal. Various organizations like VHPA, Hindus of Greater Houston, Global Kashmir Pandit Diaspora, ABMMS, DISHA, HinduPACT, and Hindu Action, among others came together to hold a vigil for 26 victims.
People from other countries also joined in the gathering to show their solidarity with India against terrorism. They held placards and posters saying ‘Hindu Lives Matter’, ‘9/11 Terror Attack Never Forget’, ‘Indo American against terrorism’, and ‘Indian Americans against terror’, highlighting their opposition to global terrorism.
Arun Mundra, of VHPA (World Hindu Council of America), in a statement said volunteers did outreach with other key organization’s team members. Amit Raina, the Kashmiri Pandit organization speaker, touched on the atrocities the Hindu community is going through decades. “It’s time for all positive entities to come together in the globe and stop the terrorism,” he said.

Organizations like Hindus of Greater Houston, VHPA, Hindu PACT, and Hindu Action showed frustration over the global terrorism by Pakistan, affecting the peace-loving people. Priest Dilip Shahstri of Nepal community’s Pashupatinath temple, said whichever country it is, their citizen should not be attacked by global terrorists as it is against humanity.
Countries like the USA, France, Russia, UK, Germany, European Union, UAE, Italy, Israel, Singapore, Bangladesh, Japan, China, Maldives, Jordan, Nepal, and Qatar, etc., have condemned the terrorist attack.
