Howard County’s Indian Cultural Association celebrates fifth anniversary
Indian Ambassador’s wife Pooja Kwatra graced the event.

The Indian Cultural Association (ICA), a Howard-county nonprofit dedicated to cultural engagement and food equity celebrated its fifth anniversary last week with a food distribution effort.
The event was attended by Pooja Kwatra, wife of Vinay Mohan Kwatra,the Ambassador of India to the United States. She brought thoughtful gifts such as dental kits for families in the County.
Niti Srivastava, executive director of ICA, expressed her gratitude for Mrs. Kwatra’s participation. “It was an honor to have Pooja join us. She is an amazing person, and her kindness was evident in that she traveled from Washington DC to take part in ICA's work to alleviate hunger. She spoke about the importance of Seva (selfless giving) and Vasudev Kutumbakam, that we are all one family. She is truly an inspirational figure,” Srivastava said.

We’re grateful to every volunteer who makes our work possible.”
ICA has been recognized with several honors, including the MD Governor’s #MDStrong Award and the AARP Andrus Award. The organization also hosts the annual Festival of India, voted Best Festival in Howard County for two consecutive years.
