DHS and ICE have not yet responded publicly to any of the lawsuits.

A new lawsuit has been filed against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) by the American Civil Liberties Union of New Hampshire (ACLU-NH) on behalf of Xiaotian Liu, a Chinese doctoral student at Dartmouth College. Liu’s F-1 student immigration status was abruptly and inexplicably terminated, according to court filings, despite a spotless record both legally and academically.

Liu, who had been studying computer science and conducting research at the Ivy League institution, received an email on Apr.4 informing him that his student status had been revoked by DHS. The notification contained no explanation. He has never been charged with a crime, violated traffic laws, or participated in any protests, the lawsuit notes.
