The Society of Indo-American Engineers and Architects (SIAEA) held its biennial election, ushering in a new leadership team dedicated to advancing the organization’s mission.
Mitul Patel, PE, was sworn in as president during an oath ceremony officiated by Edison Mayor Sam Joshi on Mar.22 at Mirage Banquet in Edison, New Jersey.
As a licensed professional engineer and president of KeRi Engineering PC, Patel pledged to strengthen SIAEA’s initiatives and empower professionals of Indian origin across the United States. Chitra Radin, ENV SP, was elected as president-elect, alongside other executive committee members.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including New Jersey State Senator Patrick Diegnan, Jr., Assemblyman Robert Karabinchak, Assemblyman Sterley Stanley, and Council candidates Kelli Dima and Biral Patel. Several former SIAEA presidents were also present to extend their support.
The dignitaries commended SIAEA’s contributions and recognized the role of Indian-origin professionals in shaping the engineering and architectural fields. Outgoing President Amil Patel reflected on the organization’s achievements during his tenure and extended best wishes to the new leadership team.
In his address, Patel highlighted the importance of inclusivity, professional development, and innovation. He acknowledged the contributions of past presidents such as Lal Motwani, Nayan Parikh, Jack Kapur, Ketan Shah, and Mihir Patel, emphasizing the need to build on their legacy. He also outlined plans to enhance member engagement, foster collaboration, and expand opportunities for engineers and architects of Indian origin.
The newly sworn-in executive committee includes Yatish Sharma, executive VP; Yogesh Mistry, secretary; and Bony Parikh, treasurer.
The newly appointed Board of Directors consists of Nimesh Shah, Aditi Patel, Nirav Shah, Tejas Desai, Owais Ahmad, and Vijay Kamarajugadda.
