Neha Raval elected to ACLU of NJ Board of Trustees

As a member of the ACLU-NJ Board of Trustees, Raval will support the organization’s mission to preserve, advance and extend the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every New Jerseyan.

The ACLU of New Jersey has announced the election of Neha Raval, a program lead with over 15 years of experience in program development, grantmaking, and capacity building related to health, gender justice, and community safety, as its newest board member.

In a statement, Marc Beebe, the ACLU-NJ Board of Trustees President, said Neha’s experience advancing key advocacy programs brings enormous value to the Board. “We’re thrilled to have her join us in our work to protect civil rights and civil liberties for all New Jerseyans.”

Amol Sinha, ACLU-NJ Executive Director, welcomed Neha to the Board of Trustees. “I look forward to working together to ensure that the ACLU-NJ is best positioned to meet this moment, and that New Jersey forges the strongest firewall of freedom,” he said.

Raval said she is honored to join the ACLU-NJ Board of Trustees. She highlighted the organization’s mission to preserve, advance, and extend the individual rights guaranteed to everyone who calls their state home is more vital now than ever. “I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members in the coming years.”

As a member of the ACLU-NJ Board of Trustees, Raval will support the organization’s mission to preserve, advance and extend the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every New Jerseyan by the state and federal constitutions in courts, in the legislature, and in their communities. 

Raval is currently a Senior Program Officer at The Just Trust, where she leads criminal reform and community safety portfolios. She has previously as a Senior Program Officer worked at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, where she advanced research initiatives for the Program on Global Health, Justice, and Governance.

At the New York Women’s Foundation, Raval led the Initiative Against Sex Trafficking of Minors and built a strategy to advance the power of survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation. She has also worked with Frontline Solutions, Global Fund for Children, and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Moldova.
