Indian American Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) has been honored with the National Education Association’s (NEA) Friend of Education Award for 2025. Jayapal accepted the honor during the NEA Higher Education Conference, held from Mar.14-16 in Philadelphia.
"It was so great to join educators from across the country today at NEA’s Higher Education Conference — and to accept their Friend of Higher Education Award!" Jayapal wrote on X. "Education is the bedrock of our democracy and something I will always fight to protect."
