Rubrik appoints Kavitha Mariappan as chief transformation officer

Mariappan’s appointment in this newly created role aims to deepen executive engagement and drive cyber resilience.

California-based cloud data management and data security company, Rubrik has appointed Kavitha Mariappan as its chief transformation officer. 

In her new role, Mariappan will collaborate closely with Rubrik’s customers, prospects, and go-to-market teams to accelerate market adoption and lead large-scale transformations. She emphasized that cyber resilience, intertwined with security, data, and AI, is now a critical business imperative.

Mariappan brings extensive experience from leadership roles at Zscaler, Databricks, and Cisco. Most recently, she served as executive vice president of customer experience and transformation at Zscaler, where her leadership was pivotal in scaling the company’s annual recurring revenue tenfold and advancing thought leadership in Zero Trust Security and IT modernization.

Mariappan joins Rubrik’s executive leadership team alongside Nicole Perlroth, former New York Times cybersecurity reporter, who was recently appointed as chief cyber raconteur.
