10-year-old hosts food drive to feed needy in Atlanta

Vaachi Garg celebrated her 10th birthday on Jan. 19 by organizing a food drive at Wood Ruff Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Partnering with Sprinkling Smiles, a local volunteer group, she chose to give back to her community in a meaningful way.

With support from her family, friends, and volunteers, Indian-origin Vaachi Garg's birthday food drive provided meals to those in need and uplifted community spirits.

Garg’s mother shared her pride: "We are incredibly proud of Vaachi. Her kindness and compassion have shown us all the importance of helping those in need."

Garg and her parents collaborated with Sprinkling Smiles to plan a menu of hot meals and snacks. The initiative drew contributions from neighbors and local businesses, who donated food, supplies, and their time to support the cause.

The community responded warmly to Vaachi's efforts. One recipient, Johnson, expressed his gratitude and said, "It's wonderful to see the younger generation stepping up to help the community. Vaachi's kindness has brought a smile to my face and warmth to my heart."
