At a time when Internet racism against the Indian diaspora is peaking – fueled by President Trump appointing several Indian Americans to key roles in his new administration – comedian Rajiv Satyal has released a video that couldn’t be more relevant.

Titled simply, ‘I am Indian American’, Satyal opens the video with a mix of humor and pride, while delivering a compelling monologue packed with staggering statistics and cultural achievements, based on an Indiaspora report.

The Indian diaspora is the largest in the world, and among them, the Indian American community stands out as one of the most successful. Numbering 5.1 million and making up 1.5% of the US population [as of 2023], they have become an undeniable force across various fields. "We have the largest number of doctors and Fortune 500 CEOs," Satyal quips. "We’ve led companies such as Google, Microsoft, and even the World Bank."
