The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) has announced that renowned Indian actor Pankaj Tripathi will be the guest of honor at this year's India Day Parade. The event, celebrated as the world’s largest Indian Indepence celebration outside India, will take place on Madison Avenue, New York, on Aug.18.
Tripathi expressed his enthusiasm for the event in a video message posted on X."I am excited and proud to be a part of this grand event, celebrating India's Independence Parade this year," he said. "I am coming there this year to represent our beloved country, India, at this grand event on Aug.18. You should also come, join us, as we showcase our rich cultural traditions to the world and spread the message of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (The World is One Family)," he added.
Pankaj Tripathi is a renowned Indian actor celebrated for his versatile performances in both Bollywood films and web series. Known for his exceptional acting skills and ability to portray a wide range of characters, Tripathi has gained acclaim for roles in movies like "Gangs of Wasseypur," "Newton," and "Stree," as well as in popular web series such as "Mirzapur" and "Sacred Games."
This year the parade will feature a special highlight: a grand replica of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Measuring 18 feet long, 9 feet wide, and 8 feet tall, the float promises to be a powerful symbol of cultural significance and a historic moment for the global Indian community.
The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) held a curtain-raiser event at the Consulate General of India in New York to announce the details of the parade. FIA president Avinash Gupta emphasized the parade's theme, 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (The World is One Family).
