Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood and Indian American community leader Harish Kolasani announced the launch of the “Sood Charity Foundation” in Chicago.
Established in the premises of the National India Hub, an Indian community center in Schaumburg Illinois, the foundation aims to provide essential support and life-saving assistance to people in need across the globe.
Sood expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership, stating, "Launching the Sood Charity Foundation office in the world’s largest Indian Community Center is a momentous occasion for us. This center is not just a building; it’s a symbol of unity, strength, and our shared commitment to helping those in need.”
“Our partnership with National India Hub will enable us to extend our mission globally, ensuring that help reaches those who need it most, no matter where they are,” the actor added.
Kolasani, a key figure in the Indian-American community and a key member of the National India Hub said that the synergy between the Sood Charity Foundation and the National India Hub represents a “powerful alliance” dedicated to humanitarian causes.
“Together, we aim to provide timely aid, resources, and support to those facing adversity, whether in India, the USA, or any other part of the world, “ Kolsani added.
The Sood Charity Foundation and National India Hub will collaborate on several projects, with an emphasis on disaster relief, healthcare assistance, awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, and the reduction of poverty.
Founded by Sood, the foundation is dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities across the globe. During the pandemic, it was instrumental in relocating migrants back him amid the nationwide lockdown in India as well as providing essential support with oxygen cylinders and hospital beds.
