Adani and Google announce clean energy partnership in Gujarat

Indian conglomerate Adani Group has announced a strategic partnership with Google to advance India’s sustainability goals and bolstering its clean energy infrastructure.

As per the agreement, Adani will supply renewable power to Google through a solar-wind hybrid project located at Khavda, Gujarat, the world’s largest renewable energy plant. The project is slated to commence commercial operations by the third quarter of 2025.

This collaboration is part of Google’s efforts to achieve its 24/7 carbon-free energy goal. By powering its cloud services and operations in India with clean energy, Google aims to significantly reduce its carbon footprint while supporting its sustainability initiatives in the country.

Adani, a leader in large-scale renewable projects, will use its expertise in wind, solar, hybrid, and energy storage technologies to deliver tailored renewable energy solutions. This move will help decarbonize industrial sectors and meet the energy demands of commercial and industrial (C&I) customers.

The Group plans to focus more on merchant and C&I segments, supporting industries in their efforts to transition to cleaner energy solutions. This partnership marks a significant step in India’s journey toward a sustainable energy future, contributing to the country’s larger goals of reducing carbon emissions and expanding renewable energy capacity.
