Aicon, New York has announced "Rockefeller + India," an exhibition featuring works by Indian artists who have received grants from the Asian Cultural Council, also known as the Rockefeller Grant.
The New York-based art gallery focuses on modern and contemporary art from South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. It offers a platform for artists from these regions to showcase their work in the United States. The gallery also hosts curated group shows with a global focus.
Aicon is presenting a collection of paintings by six artists who have received Rockefeller Grant for Frieze Masters 2024. This collection of artists, Natvar Bhavsar, Maqbool Fida Husain, Krishna Shamrao Kulkarni, Ram Kumar, Sayed Haider Raza, and Mohan Samant came to the U.S. between 1963 and 1970.
Frieze Masters 2024 will be held from Oct. 9 to Oct. 13 at Regent's Park in London, featuring a variety of works from renowned galleries around the world. The exhibition will showcase a curated collection of paintings at Stand D11.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore pieces by celebrated Indian artists who have made significant contributions to the art world.
