Air India has launched its flagship aircraft on non-stop flights between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Delhi from January 2, 2025, marking a significant milestone in its transcontinental services.

With this introduction, Air India now operates all non-stop flights between the New York region and Delhi using its state-of-the-art A350-900 aircraft. The airline had earlier launched A350 service from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Delhi on November 1, 2024.

The A350-900 features Air India’s newly designed cabins, an award-winning inflight entertainment system, complimentary Wi-Fi, enhanced catering, and upgraded serviceware. The A350 deployment brings Air India’s Premium Economy experience on all flights between Delhi and the New York region, offering 24 extra-legroom seats in a 2-4-2 configuration in a dedicated, upscale cabin.

Passengers in Business Class can enjoy private suites with fully flat beds, sliding privacy doors, and direct aisle access. The aircraft also includes a dedicated Premium Economy cabin, offering additional legroom and an upscale experience.

To celebrate the Newark launch, Air India’s cabin crew recreated iconic New York City moments and landmarks from popular Hollywood movies, dressed in uniforms designed by Manish Malhotra. These included recreations of the “Lunch Atop a Skyscraper” photograph, scenes from Home Alone 2 at Central Park’s Gapstow Bridge, and Scent of a Woman at The Pierre’s Rotunda Room.
