Ajay Bhutoria to receive highest Jain community award
He was instrumental in the change that allowed domestic H1B visa stamping

Ajay Bhutoria, a member of the President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (US HHS) will be honored with the prestigious Acharya Maha Pragya Pratibha Award in Mumbai in October 2023.
The accolade, presented by the Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, recognizes his remarkable contributions to expanding US-India relationships, promoting the principles of Jainism, advocacy for immigration reform policy changes in the USA, and leadership on the global stage to promote peace, harmony, and economic, social, and health justice for all.
Bhutoria's efforts have led to transformative policy changes. Most recently, he was instrumental in the change that allowed domestic H1B visa stamping, which means hundreds of immigrants in the U.S. can get their work visa renewed without having to travel back home.
Currently the deputy national finance chair for the Democratic Party, Bhutoria has also orchestrated meetings with several government officials to strengthen the US-India relationship by bringing together diverse community leaders.
Additionally, the award also recognises him for promoting Jainism and elevating cultural values. He was successful in having President Biden and Vice President tweet about Mahavir Jayanti and hopes to host Mahavir Jayanti within the White House, a release stated.
"Ajay Bhutoria's legacy is an anthem of leadership that resounds through time and space. He is a diplomat of unity, an advocate for change and a torchbearer of culture," the organization said in a statement.
"Ajay's journey is a living testament to the resounding impact that one individual can wield, igniting an era of transformative change that will echo for generations to come," it added.
