Actor Alia Bhatt was named as the best actor (female) for the web original film Darlings at the Filmfare OTT Awards 2023.
Around fifty categories of winners were announced at the awards ceremony that was held recently. Director Apoorv Singh Karki and actor Manoj Bajpayee have bagged awards for direction and acting in Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai.
Actor Suraj Sharma, Amruta Subhash, and Shefali Shah won awards for their supporting role in film Gulmohar, Lust Stories 2, and Darlings, respectively.
With regard to series streamed on OTT, director's Hansal Mehta's Scoop won the best series award. It is based on Jigna Vora's biographical memoir Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison.
Actress and model Karishma Tanna, actress Sonakshi Sinha and Rajshri Deshpande were awarded the best actor series (female) for Scoop, Dahaad and Trial by Fire, respectively.
Meanwhile, Vijay Varma and Suvinder Vicky bagged awards in the male category for Dahaad and Kohrra. Filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane was recognized under best director - series category for Jubilee.
Randeep Jha was recognized under the best director - critics category for Kohrra. TV writers Gunjit Chopra, Diggi Sisodia and Sudip Sharma bagged technical accolades for best original story and screenplay awards for the same.
The Trial By Fire series which bagged the best series – critics award is based on the book Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy authored by Neelam Krishnamoorthy and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy.
Pratik Shah won the best cinematographer award for Jubilee. Writers Deepak Kingrani, Jasmeet K Reen, Parveez Sheikh were recognized for their story and screenplay in Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, Darlings, and Gulmohar. Cinematographer Swpnil Sonawane bagged award for Monica, O My Darling.
Jahaan, a romantic short film starring Mrunal Thakur, Avinash Tiwary, was given the best short film award. Meanwhile, Sakshi Gurnani bagged the best director short film award for Gray.
