Alyssa Pradhan bags General Sir John Monash Scholarship

Pradhan is currently pursuing advanced training in infectious diseases and has a keen interest in the utilization of machine learning and artificial intelligence in the field of medicine.

 Alyssa Pradhan, a medical doctor and University of Adelaide alumna with a passion for AI, is one of the 2024 recipients of the General Sir John Monash Scholarships, awarded to exceptional students with leadership potential who plan to study abroad.

Pradhan is currently pursuing advanced training in infectious diseases and has a keen interest in the utilization of machine learning and artificial intelligence in the field of medicine. She was honored with the title of Australian Universities John Monash Scholar.

“My goal is to combine my medical expertise in infectious diseases, my breadth of experience working with a diverse range of Australian communities and my skills in coding and data analysis to develop clinical decision support programs that improve healthcare safety and equity, including for vulnerable patients,” she said.

Pradhan obtained her medical degree from the University of Adelaide in 2017, during which  she received the Sir Trent Champion De Crespigny Memorial Prize for achieving the highest mark in clinical examination. She has her sights set on pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Informatics at Harvard University.
