Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Foundation founder Nita Ambani have arrived in Washington DC to attend a series of events marking Donald Trump's second presidential inauguration. The high-profile couple met President-elect Trump to personally congratulate him on his victory, a day ahead of the official swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Jan.20.

Mukesh and Nita Ambani are among the select few influential global business leaders and dignitaries invited to attend the inauguration. As personal invitees of the Trump family, they will have a prominent spot at the ceremony, seated on the platform alongside Trump’s Cabinet nominees and other elected officials.

This time’s ceremony is going to be held indoors due to bad weather.

The Ambani couple was also among the Indian entrepreneurs invited to a "candlelight dinner" a day before Trump's inauguration, according to reports. At the pre-inauguration dinner, the Ambanis posed for pictures with industry leaders and Trump himself.

Reliance Industries posted Ambanis’ photos from the event on X and wrote, “With a shared optimism for deeper India-US relations, they wished him a transformative term of leadership, paving the way for unprecedented progress and collaboration for the two nations and the world.”

The Ambanis' association with the Trump family dates back several years. Mukesh Ambani was present when Ivanka Trump, then an advisor to President Trump, visited Hyderabad for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in 2017. He was also in attendance during Trump's visit to India in February 2020.

Additionally, the Trump family, including Ivanka, her husband Jared Kushner, and their daughter Arabella Rose, participated in the grand three-day pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, Gujarat, in March 2024.

Trump's real estate partner Kalpesh Mehta joins inauguration

Kalpesh Mehta, founder of Tribeca Developers and the licensed Indian partner for Trump Towers projects, is also in the US for Trump's inauguration. Mehta has been actively participating in the pre-inauguration celebrations, sharing photos on Instagram with President-elect Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Eric Trump.

Mehta shared pictures with the Ambanis on Instagram. "Fun night with Nita and Mukesh Ambani at the inaugural event for President Trump," he wrote in the caption.

Earlier last week, Mehta met Eric Trump at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida, sharing images from the meeting with a caption hinting at future business developments. "Deal announcements coming soon!" Mehta wrote.

Tribeca Developers has partnered with the Trump Organization in India for over 13 years, playing a key role in bringing Trump-branded luxury real estate projects to the country. Mehta's long-standing relationship with the Trump family dates back to his time at the Wharton School, where he studied alongside Donald Trump Jr.

Mehta is part of an exclusive group of Trump partners attending the inauguration, which includes Pankaj Bansal, Managing Director of M3M Group. The M3M- Tribeca partnership is currently developing Trump Towers in Delhi NCR, which is expected to be completed by 2025.
