Melbourne-based multinational financial services company, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) has partnered with Deakin University in India to strengthen cross-border collaboration in business, education, and emerging technologies.
The alliance builds on ANZ’s four-decade presence in India’s banking sector and aims to enhance knowledge exchange and talent development between India and Australia.
The partnership will establish a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and academics to engage in discussions on global economic trends, leadership, and innovation. It will also focus on executive education, student internships, and advisory programs to facilitate skill development.
Mark Evans, ANZ’s head of South East Asia, India and Middle East, emphasized India’s strategic importance to the bank. “India is a strategically important market for ANZ and the bank continues to make significant investments here.This collaboration with Deakin University reinforces our commitment to talent development and industry partnerships, ensuring the next generation of leaders are well-prepared for the opportunities ahead,” Evans said.
Ravneet Pahwa, Deakin University’s vice president for global engagement and CEO for South Asia, highlighted the institution’s long-standing commitment to India. “This collaboration with ANZ is a step forward in our mission to foster business innovation, talent development, and leadership in emerging technologies. By bridging academia and industry, we aim to create opportunities that drive real-world impact," Pahwa said.
