McDonald’s USA, in collaboration with Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) Scholars, is empowering college students through financial support and expanded access to higher education.
This year marks the fifth consecutive partnership between McDonald’s and APIA Scholars, offering the APIA Scholarship to deserving students across the United States.
The scholarship program, which opened on Nov.15, 2024, will close on Jan.15, 2025. It is designed to support students based on academic excellence, community involvement, and financial need, with more than half of the recipients coming from underrepresented communities.
In addition to the APIA Scholarship, McDonald’s USA is also offering the McDonald’s HACER® National Scholarship and the Black & Positively Golden® Scholarship, both of which remain open for applications.
One of the inspiring stories of resilience and success comes from Daisy Panhilason, a 2021 recipient of the APIA Scholarship. Daisy, who is now pursuing a nursing degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), shared her journey at McDonald's recent APA Next Summit.
During a panel moderated by actors Ming-Na Wen (The Mandalorian) and Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever), Daisy spoke about the impact of receiving the scholarship and how it helped her overcome challenges to achieve her educational goals.
The APIA Scholarship is part of the APA Next education platform, which aims to empower students throughout their academic journey. With the Jan.15 deadline fast approaching, students are encouraged to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to further their education.
