Arijit Roy named to U.S. bank managing committee
Roy's appointment to the managing committee is effective immediately, marking a significant step in his career and further strengthening the leadership team at U.S. Bancorp.

Minneapolis-based bank holding company, U.S. Bancorp, has announced the appointment of Indian-American banking strategist Arjit Roy to its managing committee, which currently consists of 16 executives who are responsible for overseeing the bank's revenue lines, enabling functions, and independent risk teams.
In his expanded role, Roy will continue leading the consumer and business banking product organization, and report to U.S. Bancorp president Gunjan Kedia. He will focus on strengthening the bank's consumer and business banking products while collaborating with distribution channels to boost growth among consumer and small business clients, an official statement noted..
“Arijit’s focus on collaboration, client advocacy and creating unique, differentiating product offerings has strengthened our organization,” Andy Cecere, U.S. Bancorp chairman and CEO said, acknowledging Roy’s experience in integrating product, channel and strategy in financial services. “We look forward to his contributions and leadership on the managing committee in the days ahead.”
Roy, 47, joined U.S. Bank in 2022 and previously held leadership roles at Truist, Discover Financial Services, and McKinsey and Company. At Truist, he led strategy, deposits, small business banking, and analytics, as well as served as a senior leadership team member for the Retail Community Bank.
Prior to his time at Truist, Roy held various leadership roles at Discover Financial Services, contributing significantly to consumer banking. Before Discover, he was an associate partner at McKinsey & Co., where he provided strategic advice to financial services clients. Roy's earlier career included roles at H&R Block and Sprint (now T-Mobile), adding a diverse set of experiences to his professional journey.
His educational background includes an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech, and a BE in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology in India.
