Ashwin Ramaswami accuses GOP opponent of being “Too distracted to govern”
Ramaswami urged voters to hold those responsible for Jan.6 accountable in the upcoming electing

Ashwin Ramaswami, who recently won the Democratic nomination for Georgia State Senate District 48, accused his Republican opponent Shawn Still of being distracted by court proceedings for his role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election results alongside Donald Trump.
As hearing for the trial resumed on May.29, Ramaswami, appeared outside the Fulton County Superior Court. “Shawn Still is too distracted to govern: throughout the summer he’s going to have to face a criminal prosecution for his actions as opposed to working for our constituents and what matters for us,” Ramaswami stated.
“As Shawn Still’s own lawyer admitted, the indictment centers around the fake electors’ meeting on December 14, 2020 that lasted approximately 26 minutes,” said Ramaswami. “Whether it takes 26 minutes or 26 seconds, a crime is a crime — and Shawn Still must face accountability for his attempt to overturn the 2020 election results.”

Whether it’s 26 minutes or 26 seconds, a crime is a crime.
And Shawn Still must face accountability for his and Donald Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 election.
Ramaswami described the upcoming November election as a way for voters to hold those responsible for Jan.6 accountable. “Shawn Still’s actions as a fake elector is only part of a troubling pattern of undermining the voices and votes of all Georgians,” the Indian American said.
Ramaswami graduated from Stanford and Georgetown with degrees in computer science and law. He spent his first years after graduation working for the federal government on election security and is running to ensure elected officials will focus on issues that matter to constituents.
Some of his priorities include fully funding the education system, providing affordable access to housing and healthcare, and helping build an economy of the future that works for all.
